Terms of use

These terms cover the Cenar Tutoring website, our tutoring, and the Cenar practice portal (together, the “Services”). “Cenar,” “we” and “us” mean Cenar Tutoring, a tutoring business based in Fairfax, Virginia. By using the Services you agree to these terms and to our privacy policy. Questions: cenartutoring@gmail.com.

Parents and guardians

If the student is under 18, a parent or guardian must agree to these terms and the privacy policy on the student's behalf. By creating an account for a student, or by booking tutoring for one, you confirm that you are that student's parent or guardian, or that a parent or guardian has agreed. Cenar is meant for high school students and is not for children under 13.

Tutoring, scheduling and payment

  • Free consultation and diagnostic test: free, with no obligation to book anything afterward.
  • Tutoring: $50 per hour, paid per session. You pay only for sessions that take place.
  • Scheduling: your tutor will agree session times with you directly.
  • Cancelling and missed sessions: we keep this casual. If you need to cancel or move a session, just text your tutor as early as you can. There is no charge for a session that doesn't happen, including a no-show.
  • Ending tutoring: either side can stop at any time. Tell your tutor, and you owe nothing for sessions that haven't happened.

Our tutors are college students who scored at the top of the SAT. They are not certified teachers or counselors, and tutoring is academic coaching, not professional advice. Online sessions are by video call. We do not record sessions unless everyone on the call agrees first.

No guarantee of results

We work hard for every student, but we cannot promise a particular score or an admission decision, because results depend on many things, including the student's effort and the test itself. The scores and quotes on this site are real students' individual results. They do not guarantee the same result for you.

Practice accounts

  • Keep your password private and do not share your account. You are responsible for what happens under it, and you must tell us right away if you think someone else has used it.
  • Practice modules are for the student they are unlocked for, and for that student's tutor.
  • Results and answer reports are shown to a student only after their tutor opens them.
  • We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, and you can ask us to close yours at any time. We will handle the saved data as our privacy policy describes.

Our content

The practice questions, explanations, designs and text in the Services belong to Cenar and its tutors. We give you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use them for your own studying. Please do not copy, share, post, sell or republish them, and do not use them to train software or AI.

Please don't

  • Try to get into accounts, results or answer keys that are not yours.
  • Use bots, scrapers or anything that slows down or breaks the Services.
  • Share questions or answers in ways that harm other students' practice.

SAT® is a trademark registered by the College Board, which is not affiliated with, and does not endorse, this site. Cenar's practice tests are not official College Board tests.

Disclaimers and limits on liability

THE SERVICES AND PRACTICE MATERIALS ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.” WE DO NOT PROMISE THAT THEY WILL BE ERROR-FREE OR ALWAYS AVAILABLE, OR THAT THEY WILL PRODUCE ANY PARTICULAR SCORE. TO THE EXTENT THE LAW ALLOWS, CENAR'S TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATED TO THE SERVICES IS LIMITED TO THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM, AND WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR INDIRECT OR CONSEQUENTIAL LOSSES.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for fraud or gross negligence.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia. Any dispute will be heard in the state or federal courts located in or serving Fairfax County, Virginia.

Changes

We may update these terms. For significant changes we will email the people who have an account, and the date at the top will change. Using the Services after a change means you accept it.
